Sirloin bowl over herb rice at Marketplace Grille. Yummy!

I didn't just try this place today but since I had eaten there a couple times, couldn't help but ordered the same plate. I thought I gotta mention it here.

I stumpled upon this eatery during lunch. I recently started at a new client's site so I was ever so glad to find a plaza nearby with quite a few food selections. I was quite tired of typical mall food or deli's generally around commercial parks.

I was first attracted to this place by the aroma of its grill (good strategy to put the grill facing the street!) and I said I had to try something. I'm a big meat lover so I ordered a sirloin (minced) plate over herb rice (herb rice looks more exciting than just white and is about 40 cents more). I was drooling at the window while the sirloin was being freshly grilled on a skewer.

The taste:
I thought to myself, if this actually tastes as good as it smells, I'd be in heaven. And I was! As I opened the box (I ordered to-go) the sirloin was lying on top of a bed of herb rice, spinkled with freshly made taboulee. The meat was marinated and grilled just right! I found the taboulee a bit on the sour side for me so I asked for less the 2nd time, but it just didn't taste as good so I ordered the usual amount the 3rd and 4th times... and the rice was just delicious! (ordered the white rice once and it just wasn't as fun)

Bottom line:
To buy it to-go, eat at the desk and during work lunch - $8.25. Eating there and enjoying the aroma of the grill at the same time - priceless.

Type of food:
Persian roots with a twist of Marketplace's own unique southwestern mesquite. (as they claim in their menu)

Price range: $6.90 for the bowl, $8.25 for the plate.

  • As I'm writing this, I'm actually at Marketplace Grille again - this time, eating in and trying their salmon bowl.

They have NOT disappointed! The salmon is grilled to perfection - juicy and tender on the inside, a bit crunchy on the outside.

The taboulee is fresh as usual. Yum!
